The Sturdivant-Jones House

(Kim and Chuck Ledbetter's house)

397 E Lafayette Street

Built by W. H. Oliver in 1916 in the Classical Revivalist style was the first brick house built in Dadeville. In 1920 it was purchased by the newlywed couple Raymond and Henrietta Sturdivant, who at the time owned the cotton warehouse downtown. It was known for the next 15 years as the "Raymond Sturdivant" house. In 1935, Edith Young Jones purchased the house for herself and her husband, T. Kent Jones, to live in. Kent Jones ran the Ritz Theatre on the square for many years, and served as mayor of Dadeville for three terms. The house was purchased in 1988 by Jeff and Barbara Cole. Jeff Cole had just retired as a school principal in Atlanta. In 2023, Kim and Chuck Ledbetter purchased the house.
