The Sturdivant-Easterwood-Jones House was built in 1885 by Thomas and Mary Corprew Sturdivant. This home was built next door to Mary Corprew Sturdivant's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Churchwell Corprew. Thomas Sturdivant opened the Sturdivant Bank in 1890, one of the first 3 banks organized in Tallapoosa County. This bank was operated by Thomas' 3 sons, Herbert, Fred, and Raymond until the bank closed in the 1930's due to the Great Depression.  Thomas Sturdivant and his sons also owned the large cotton warehouses behind the Camellia Cafe, office of Architect Steve Taylor, and another building which is undergoing renovation (previously a Bill's Dollar Store).  Subsequent owners include:  Easterwoods, Chapmans, and Jones.
